Stage Three  -  Email Tasks - 2D & 3D Shapes

Teacher Instructions
1. Access the DET Portal by clicking on the link below:
https://portal.det.nsw.edu.au
2. Open your email account
3. Click on
'New' in the top left hand side
4. Click on the
'To' button, which opens the GAL - Global Address List.
5. Click in the
Alias field
6. Type a 'tilde' (
~) which is done by holding down the 'Shift" and Pressing the key above the 'Tab' key.
7. Then enter your school code next to the tilde.
8. Click on '
Find'
9. Select your class or tick the box next to it (Apple) from the list that appears below.
10. Click
'To' from underneath this window
11. Click
'Close'
12. Highlight all the text in the Email Task section below.
13. Copy and Paste this text into your email text window
14. Press
'Send' - the lesson will then go to all students in your class.


This means up to 30 emails will be returned to you - if you do not wish to reply to each individual email then repeat the steps 4-11 to send one email to email the whole class thanking them for their efforts.


Email Task
Your email task today is to:
1.
READ THE WHOLE EMAIL FIRST
2. Open a link to a website
3. Navigate between the website and your email account
4. Take a screen shot
5. Open a 'Word Document'
6. Paste your screen shot into this document
7. Save your 'Word Document'
8. Attach your Document to an Email
9. Email your document to your teacher.


Complete the task by following these instructions
1. Click on the link below to go to the website

2. When you have made enough shapes to fill the screen, take a
screen shot of your final page. (Windows users - Press Print Screen of your final page. Apple user - Press Shift + Control + Command + 3)
3. Open a
Word document
4.
Paste your screen shot into this document. (Click on Edit then select Paste.)
5.
Save the document onto the desktop or in your folder. Call the file shapes
6. Navigate back to your email
7. Click on the
'Reply' button at the top of your email
8. Click on the
'Attachment' Button
9. Click on the
'Browse' Button
10. Navigate to where you saved the file 'shapes' for example desktop or folder
11. Click on the file '
shapes'
12. Click on the '
Open' button
13. Click on the
'Attach' button
14. In the message section write what you learnt doing in this task
15. Click on the
'Send' button at the top of your email


Well done! You have emailed your answers to your teacher.
